There exist several supplementary standard vaccines included in the national immunization schedules. For
instance, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises individuals traveling to
Tanzania to ensure that they receive vaccinations for diseases such as chickenpox, pertussis-diphtheria-tetanus, influenza, measles-mumps-rubella, polio, and shingles prior to their journey. The majority of these vaccinations are administered during childhood.
Protection against typhoid, which can be transmitted by poor hygiene related to water, food, or unclean surfaces, is advised. The CDC recommends this vaccine for individuals planning solo travel, residing in rural regions, and dining outside hotels in areas with inadequate sanitation. Those interested in volunteering with animals, such as in a dog rescue program, are encouraged to receive rabies vaccination beforehand.
